About
Our Program
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is a four-year degree program that prepares students to become skilled and competent nurses. Nurses are healthcare professionals who provide care to patients across the lifespan—from newborns to older adults—in various healthcare settings such as hospitals, clinics, and community health centers. In collaboration with doctors and other healthcare workers, nurses perform important responsibilities including administering medications, providing wound care, monitoring patients’ vital signs, educating patients about their health conditions, and offering emotional support to patients and their families.
The BSN curriculum is structured in accordance with the standards established by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Philippine Nurses Association (PNA). It includes major subjects such as anatomy and physiology, microbiology, pharmacology, pathophysiology, nursing care for adults, children, and families, nursing research, and clinical practice. The program also provides a clinical internship where students gain hands-on experience in actual healthcare environments under the supervision of licensed nurses.
Upon completion of the BSN program, graduates become qualified to take the Nursing Licensure Examination (NLE). Those who successfully pass the examination are granted the opportunity to practice as Registered Nurses in the Philippines.
BS Nursing Degree
The journey toward becoming a professional nurse usually starts by enrolling in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program at an accredited college or university such as CLDHEI. This degree program generally takes about four years to complete and is designed to provide students with both strong theoretical knowledge and practical clinical skills. Throughout the program, nursing students study important subjects such as anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, medical-surgical nursing, maternal and child health nursing, community health nursing, and psychiatric nursing. In addition to classroom lectures and laboratory activities, students participate in clinical rotations in hospitals and community healthcare settings, where they gain hands-on experience in caring for patients of different ages and health conditions. These learning experiences help students develop critical thinking, communication skills, compassion, and professional competence that are essential for delivering safe and effective patient care in real healthcare environments.
